As part of the National Institute of Social Work in Tangier’s outreach to its institutional partners, a study day was organized on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in partnership with the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC). The event included the participation of staff from both institutions and students of the Institute, particularly those in the Master’s program, as well as representatives from social and professional sectors.
The meeting opened with two introductory speeches by the Director of the Institute and the Regional Director of the Agency, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in linking academic training with the job market.
In his speech, Professor Hicham Belmaati, Director of the Institute, highlighted the importance of this meeting, which comes in the context of the transformations taking place in the field of social work. He emphasized that the Institute is undergoing significant pedagogical and structural reforms aimed at improving training and aligning it with labor market requirements. He added that this meeting seeks to establish a practical partnership that would facilitate the integration of our graduates and strengthen their professional skills.
The director also called to make use of this meeting to formulate actionable cooperation mechanisms, including guidance, counseling, alternating training, and professional development.
On her part, the regional director of the agency confirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting graduates and enhancing their abilities to integrate, explaining that the social sector represents a promising field for employment, and the alignment of university training with market needs is a fundamental element in building successful bridges between the student and the professional institution.
As emphasized, the agency is ready to develop support programs specifically aimed at students in the fields of social work, through workshops, motivational meetings, and simulated job interviews.
Today included introductory presentations about the tasks of the two institutions, followed by an open discussion that resulted in practical recommendations to enhance employment opportunities in the social field.
In the evening session, a workshop was organized, led by Professor Fadwa Nid Abdullah, a psychology professor at the institute, on “Active Listening in Social Work.”
