Presentation of the Institute

The National Institute of Social Work is a higher education institution not affiliated with any university. It was established in 1981 by the government authority in charge of social affairs, under Decree No. 2.84.30 dated January 31, 1985. The institute is recognized as a reference in training, social research, and social development at both the national and African levels.

The institute’s core training focuses on preparing intermediate and senior professionals specialized in the social field, capable of working with vulnerable groups in various social situations—whether individuals or groups—to help them find solutions to the social issues they face and support their integration into society.

Currently, the institute is leading a major project aimed at restructuring and enhancing its training programs, increasing student capacity, and integrating international training opportunities. It is currently under the supervision of the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Development, Equality and Family.
